Are your carb heaters off? If so try changing the relay. Had this happen, the relay fails closed causing some of the spark to go to the head lights. Makes it a bugger to start.
Ya! been there with the plastic retainer on the coil. I was trying to sort the no power issue that turned out to be the relay. Ski Doo should put a sticker on the coil saying try relay first.
Thanks for the input. I set the idle down and adjusted the Pilot screws back to 1 1/2. It is better but upon checking the settings in the manual I noticed the following. On wide open throtle the gate is a little higher than spec. The choke cam is to be 0 to 1/64" from the stop, the closest I can...
I have a 07 xrs 800r. when the sled is cold everything works fine. When the sled is warm the rpm hangs at about 3000 rpm and sits there. If I put the choke on briefly the rpm will come down to normal. As soon as I rev it up again the same thing happens. Any ideas?
I had the same issue and it was the relay. Its a five dollor fix. Change it a give it a try. It is a 1" black cube near the fuses. if you don't have a relay unplug the head lights and see if it starts, if it does it's the relay.
Obviously you never bought a 07 xrs with the new (at the time) 800r. I am on my 3rd engine. I have bought three first year sleds all of them were disasters for me. I guess some have more luck than others.
My buddy has a all stock 06 800ho with a 144 track. The sled works real good if he hard on the throtle but if he is just running easy like 40 miles per it revs up and just does not shift up. From what he says it done it from day one. I am more use to cats and the secondary has a adjustment for...
Well everything else looks good to me other than the weights don't move that freely. Any other Cat clutch or comet I have worked on the weights would not require any push at all to move them, they would move freely and drop if you turned the clutch upside down. I was suspecting that the orings...
