Broken bolt in chaincase

Have a 07 XRS. Went to change the track the weekend and found the head of the bolt that holds the lower sprocket on. Sheared right off. Any idea what cause this. I was very lucky there was no damage.

Just serviced my buddys xrs before Christmas. Same bolt head broken off

Bolt was tight and a byotch to get out. Good thing there was a 1/4 inch out.

I think its was a normal thing on the 07's. To tight from the factory or something like that

I picked up the replacement screw and they have changed from the hex bolt to a SHCS that is also about a 1/4" Longer.

Unreal! Glad to hear no serious damage. Sounds like BRP asleep at the switch again.

Ya its funny too..
Cause we were just going to pull the drain plug and not take the cover off..

In revy there was 3 plus feet of fresh everyday.
Broken case halfs with that much snow =====. No towing.
It would have been stupid expensive
