Thanks, so you think it requires lube at the throttle body, any recommended type of lubricant. Dealer said he knows nothing of it, if I had one sled, id say ok, but with all 3....there is an issue.
No, we have 3 9R's all came from the heated garage, to the sled trailer and it was like plus 4 outside that day. They got worse as they got warm. Just drove them back to the shed the other day and felt perfect, cold, so something under-hood heat related, for sure.
Anyone notice that the throttle is super finicky just off idle? It's like it cuts out just as you are rolling along at 2 or 3 mph and then cuts in again.... Plus had it hold up (sort of stick) just off idle a few times too... Continued to run at 5 mph with no hand on throttle. Warm day, above...

If you don't have any mods, run 87 octane.
If you have mods, get a boondocker and A/F O2 sensor combo and you'll clean it up.
All the way around, I think higher comp heads is the answer but this horse has been beaten before....drop the octane or the fuel supply and she'll pur like the kitty...
OK
Do you know how to change the jets? Old engines usually run like $hit because they have old gas in the carbs.
Start with a 17 mm wrech and take the bottom water traps off of the carbs.....(remove the air box first) dont lose the rubber seals on the water traps so get a good ligtht and...
You have to remember what the intent of these laws are designed for.....if a someone wants to haul some long lumber or posts out of the back of a pickup, that is a definate safety concern. A rear end collision could put the other driver is serious danger. Do lights make it safer? maybe...
