Removing wheels from 2002 mm 700?

I'm trying to lighten my sled, 2002 mm 700 151 And no, I cannot afford anything else, gotta make this one work. I have read about removing the wheels as long as you are not riding a bunch of trails. Which wheels are safe to remove? Anything special I should know before doing this? Any after...

2008 Nytro skid and track on a 2002 MM 700??

So, the title pretty much asks this years mod question. To be more specific, I was hoping and dreaming I could just bolt up a 2008 Nytro skid to my 2002 MM and extend the tunnel and be done with it. Thanks in advance :beer: Ps, I really hope everyone has more already than we do :)

    engine bogs in powder

The last two rides I have been on my mm 700 started bogging down when really tipping it on its sides in deep powder. After cutting out my sway bar and stiffening the front I am happy to report that I can really tip it over now, but WTH with the bogging? When I cleared the snow from the vents it...

    Mountain Equipment Co-Op

I didn't know much about this company except what I have read on this site, all negative about snowmobiles in the back country. So, being the fair minded person I am I wrote them and asked if what I read was true. Here is their "official" response: Thanks for writing to info@mec.ca...

    Rollers on clutch

After rolling my MM 700 about 8 times down a hill yesterday:o, we were checking it over and a friend noticed the set of 3 roller bearings on my clutch had no tension and it squeaks a little when revving up right before it engages. Do I need to do more than replace the roller bearings and see how...

    What would you do?

I was parked in a lot to go sledding, a dump truck pulling a tripple axle trailer was turning around to pick up a tractor. I could see he was having trouble making the turn, so I moved my truck to try and give him some room. I went to the passenger side to put some gear inside, thats when I...

    Belt Question

Went for first ride of season today with the new to me 1998 MM 600. This sled has sat for 5 years. We were just riding up a paved road with about 18" of snow, stopped to check how the oil and things were doing since it had been so long since it was ridden. We noticed the belt was much looser...

    Sway bar disconnect

I read in a post about a sway bar disconnect to help roll the sled over. My newbie question is; can I do it to my Mountain Max? I have a difficult time side hilling and wondered if this might help. Thanks in advance for answering more questions from a rookie:d:d

    Mods on MM 700

Hello All, I had a couple of questions I hope you can help with. I have a Mountain Max 700 (insert ski doo, polaris joke here) It's obviously an old style chasis and the hood is really stressing about a foot above the tie down point. What have people done to reinforce this? Plastic, metal with...
