crazy money. my neighbor has had to have his sled choppered out more than a couple of times. personally i think it's more fun to have to tow it out. then at least the owner of the broken sled owes you a beer and hookers.

OKAY, BIGGY... THAT'S WHY ON THE MOUNTAIN MANIA TRIP WE HAD TWO POLARIS'S COULN'T EVEN MAKE THE TRIP UP(TOWED BACK - ENGINES), AND ONE CRATERED UP THERE(ANOTHER ENGINE) AND I HAD TO PULL ANOTHER ONE(BUGS'S ENGINE) DOWN THE LAST 4 KM FROM GORMAN..... HAD ENUF, OR SHOULD I CONTINUE..... LOL :D:D:D:D

Yah what ever, No worries !!!..... Everyone gets their turn !! :D

Ah it's like a guy i know said today, if his drive shaft breaks that b#$%^ aint comin back she'll burn on the hill where she dies... He's not very happy with doo's response to the problem. Which i dont blame him..

I am with you on the last post if BRP knows the drive shaft could break it should be fixed at there cost i wonder who will pay for the air ride out of the hills i am sure they wouldn't with that said
I have mine clutched changed the top gear to a 19 tooth added 4 flow rite vents to the clucth side they are 3 inch she pulls hard & had it out today put on 50 miles in fresh power 2.5 to 3 feet & i wasn't taking it too easy after riding for 1.5 hours at the bar the clucths were still good hot but not on fire i also have no foam under the hood at all
I was thinking that after i took out the foam from between the pipe & the rad hose that the wires & hose may get to hot i checked them today they were hot but not ready to melt i think it will be ok i may have to wrap that stuff with some heat tape

No those hoses will be perfectly fine.. Is your sled an xp with a 154? If so you should try a 20tooth gear, they seem to work better than the 19. Also the screen kits that we got cover the holes in the front to keep snow out and then the ones on the side panels get the heat out. They are fairly easy to install, we also just got our first shipment of pipes in for the xp800.. They are dynoport single's that come ceramic coated.. The ceramic coating helps keep the heat in the pipe instead of radiating it out.. Oh yah and there is no way doo would ever pay to get a sled out of the hills.. Thats just crappy, they need to fix issue..

Can you give more info on the 20 tooth gear. Like...does it have better track speeds? better wear on the chain? do you loose to much with the 19 tooth? Maybe the 19 is contributing to the shaft breaking??? I know the bottom end snap would be good with the 19 over the 20 but if you lose top end thats no good. Does the 19 rev too high. I`ve been wanting to go with a large bottom gear( I know I`ll have to change the chain) because I don`t like the tight wrap around the 19 tooth gear.

But here is how i am thinking BRP built this sled to be a sled that climb's beter then all the rest as a stock sled
So i payed 13,400.00 for the sled had to pay for the clucthing that cost 100.00 had the gear changed to a 19 tooth free i put 4 x 3'' flow rites in the side cover on the clucth side free
Here is what i think with the 19 tooth gear & the weights in the clucth if you don't vent the side cover with something you will still have the heating problum's
I have been told that any thing i do to this sled to make it work proper in the deep & steep if BRP comes out with an update & you have already done this to your sled you will not get anything from BRP so with that said i think i will run it like it is
It is staying cool with the flow rites that i have in at - 10 to 20 it may not be good for spring riding but then i will pull both side covers that will keep her cool
Some thing else to think about what is going to happen when the worrenty run's out & you haven't broke a drive shaft or when they stop replacing the belts at a 170.00 a pop that is alot of money for a belt when you could use one or two a day
Another two cents worth how do you think the dealer ships are liking this it must be bad to see so many peaple coming back with new sleds to be fixed BUT THINK OF THE MONEY THEY ARE MAKING THEY DON'T MAKE THAT MUCH BY SELLING THE SLED THEY MAKE THEY MONEY BUY FIXING THEM sorry i am just ventting have good

JUST A QUICK NOTE.... I PURCHASED A BELT FROM BOMBARDIER FOR MY 1000RT AND IT WAS $180.00 TOO, THEN I CHECKED NAPA, AND MY COST ON A HI=PERF BELT WAS $70.00.... TOOK THE BOMBARDIER BELT BACK AND BOUGHT 2 BELTS FOR CHEAPER THAN THE 1 SKI-DOO BELT... IT'S SPECIAL DUALL CORE, DUAL RIB BELT AND GUARANTEED FOR 1 YEAR........ JUST A THOUGHT...... HAS ANYONE CHECKED THEM FOR YOUR XP'S???:confused::confused:

The benefit to the 20 is just tryin to keep as much track speed as you can but also making things efficent.. We actually have some new bottom gears in stock now also..

Hey there 08 800x doo. You have done several things that are definitely in the right direction.. I know that we set a guys 154 up for him and he said that it`s working absolutely awesome, je`s been to mtn`s on three trips at least this year already and he is on his second belt. The first belt just had some cords starting to come loose so he changed it.. We just put our clutch kit in and we put a 20t gear just to help it hold a little better track speed.. And we put one of our 9 piece screen kits on, The screen kits work awesome and look good to.. But you are right that brp dealers make hardly anything on a new sled. it them selling acccesories and working on them after.. Thats why a person must be careful buying some accesories from the dealer cause they`ll just tell you what you want to hear to sell you the part... People that do that really piss me off...I`d rather have a guy pissed at me for not selling a part than have him pissed at me for selling him a part that didnt work..

Here is another two cents worth i got my sled thinking that with it being so lite i would run it for two years or till the top end is done at 2000 miles & put a big bore in it if the body stays together if my drive shaft stays in till after sping i will pull the skid add new sliders & weld the shaft maybe BRP will pay for it buy then or have a replacement one for it the reason i don't like fixing that stuff is because i all ready payed for it when i bought the sled for 13,400.00 that is why people buy a new sled & not a used one
Like i said if this sled stays together it with be hard to find a stock sled of the same cc's to climb with it THAT IS A FACT HAVE A GOOD DAY .

You bet, i agree that they work well.. We have an 860 big bore kit for them that puts them up to like 174hp. And the kit costs like 2700 plus install,.. We've sold lots of them and they are working really really good....

That number was with a single pipe, and you should run like 2G of race fuel in each tank.. Just because you can never really be sure of how good of prem you are getting.. With the kit it doesn'y affect reliabilty at all. It will still be a pull the cord and ride sled, wont have to be under the hood messin with stuff.

In my opinion, it's not a pull and go sled if you have to be mixing race fuel. but thats just me...same with premix sleds.

here is another choppered out xp due to a driveshaft problem aquired from a reliable source!

does anyone know if skidoo is picking up the bird bill? I heard that early in the season they had picked up some rental bills for some guys!

I heard from the dealer in Edson that BRP picked up the bird tab for one fellas sled ride out but not sure how true it is. Does anyone know if doo is covering any of the cost to correct the drive shaft problem before it breaks? Asked the dealer about this and it felt like he wanted to beat around that topic.

Thats the first i've heard of them pickin up a bird bill. I cant seethe mdoing that. I heard tht they arenteven really warrantying alot of the shafts that are breaking, not sure about that.. Alls i know is that we welded up the bosses turb drieshaft before it broke.. e've acully ha a w people brng the shafts in for welding now. ause if thepull teh shaft ut t' iesnt takeus hatlog to drill the appropriate holes in shaft then tig weld them up again andyour good to go.

Brother took his to Riverside and they are charging him $200 to weld......no cover by BRP.......they are still denying this has happened. Someone from their shop should get online and doo a little reading....sales may be down next year!!!!!! Gearing and clutching updates to be done at no charge.
