I wonder if its just the website, or if you cant get an SP with the 3 inch track anymore? Just tried to build one and 2.5 was the only option.

Played with it a bit more and you cant have a pull start. You have to choose the new electric start thing and then the option for a 3 inch track opens up.

Oh good so I can't just get the $600 3" option I have to go for a full $1200 add on. I'm not old enough to need e-start yet and would rather have that $600 for fixing other shortcomings of the sled than convenient starting.

100% agree

Im curious if there is any truth to the new 2.5s working as good or better than the 3.0 on the 154? 2.5 is nice in a way because its better for ripping around the acreage. Plus ends up being a whole bunch cheaper now that you have to take the grandpa starting system with the 3.0

Was talking to Dale at H2O and he doesn't like the new 3" to the point he's putting a t3 track under it. Says his 2016 would kill his 2017

I have ridden both with high kms and I'd take the 3" 165 all day over the 3" 174 that's on my T3. I love that track!

there is truth to it depending on the snow conditions. the 850 with the 2.5" track being lighter with taller gearing makes an incredible amount of ground speed compared to its 3" counterpart. so in marginal snow conditions i would take that 2.5" all day long as its spinning it at a very impressive rate of speed which allows you approach certain features with higher speed and maintain higher speed throughout the mauenver pending good traction. However move up to 2+feet of fresh and that 3" will walk right over it. the 2.5" is no slouch in the 850 and by far the better all around machine
