I agree with sounding like the 2008 epidemic. Venting and foam helps but that's not the root cause. Heat is getting generated in excess. Something is twisting. Had same issue with 2098. Run different motor mounts and had to shim secondary (the tower brace was the best solution). Could only tell once it was on a stand and opened it up you could see the belt twist. It doesn't sound as bad as what I seen in those but it's more than just venting. And the power thing is bogus. Run 280 hp on Yamaha belts and clutches and no hot temps. Put it on a stand and look I bet it will show something.

i was talking with dealer in edmonton today, they said that they have not had 1 issue of any of there sleds that they pdi blowen belts. on the clutch is a rust inhibitar sprayed on the outside,i can see that causing belt issues if not cleaned for that would be like a sticky film once warmed up.if at pdi its not cleaned up in my opinion would possible be the cause. there is alot of sleds out there with no issue and others with issue so i feel its something like this that could be the cause, instead of trying to revamp the wheel ,look for the simple 1st,then start looking farther for the cause.

I know of 4 different 850's and not one has had belt issues. Two guys I ride with are hardcore cat guys running bigbores and turbos and they are selling their cats and buying 850's after riding mine around for a few hours. They couldn't believe how good the 850 is.

Lol is right. That's exactly what I did when they got done riding my sled and stand there looking at it and don't know what to say for 20 seconds. Yes I laughed out loud. And I laughed again when they called me that night looking for the best skidoo dealer. Lmao.

Soooo.....now the 850's are not belt blowers and people are selling their big bores and turbos to buy this 850 mountain monster?
Just repeating what I have read here on s & m.

I'm not saying they sold their cats because of the power. I'm mostly showing how much they have invested into their cats and are still switching over. I'm sure they will bigbore or turbo the G4 as well because they don't like to ride stock sleds. The thing that impressed them the most was how light and easy this new doo is to ride. And no, we haven't even pulled a belt cord on any of the new doo's I've been around. But of course you read all about the belt issue on the internet so it must be happening on 99% of the new doo's......right? Lmao.

Don't you have a prolite that doesn't work?

Worked awesome for a couple seasons, then i decided to "improve" it !!!!! Been a bit challenging i have no tuning skills, but getting closer. If i just had 50 cc"s more and a smaller gas tank, man i think this thing would rock :)

You should make informative videos for Arctic Cat telling everyone how good it is

I'm renting an 850 at new years in golden, and talked to several of the rental operations down there, and they've never even heard of the belt issues. They have about 8 between them and not one glitch yet... I'm stoked :) .... Renting from my friend at snowpeak rentals, ... Shoutout to mike :)
