Just thinking mabe over geared, thought of u went I see a post there

Me on my older revs ect, always geared down

My buffalo is geared right, and I think my 163 14 xm is also...

It is a little over geared, its just screaming high RPM's on the trail. But climbing and in the tree's its working really good. Just have to slow it down a bit going up the trail.

Could have did some clutching to achieve the same results, but this was cheap and easy. Might go to a 20 tooth and do some clutching, but I'm going to run this setup for a while:beer:

Doo talk...do those guys know what hills are. He's not going to loose any trackspeed in a loaded climb because the clutches never even come close to fully shifting out anyways. Sure you will loose top end track speed on hardback
Ya there's lots of east coast tards, but some that know there stuff

Put your clickers on 1 when going up the trail, then when you get higher up put your clickers where you normally do when riding up high, quick clickers work great.

This is what Kuster showed me last year... Makes 30 km a tank farther too

Also the rave bog is not there on the trail

Sometimes I'm just to lazy to switch

I never adjusted my clickers ever for trail. I have a thumb that hinges and allows me to moderate rpm for the trail.

Stock Doo clutching has been decent since about 2012. It has been a little lazy but unless you wanted a harsh engagement it was very ridable. I get a kick out of guys who haven't owned new sleds in 10 years and need to run out and spend $500-700 on some guys "kit" because they read it is awesome but they never know what the shortcomings of the stock set up were.

well if you try putting your clickers on 1 while going up the trail you will see the difference gauranteed, if you do try it lilduke tell us if you notice the difference.

I didn't say you wouldn't see a difference. I typically ran mine on 3 or 4 and that's where they stayed. It's not just the change in peak rpm that you see but clickers affect how quickly the clutch responds to rpm and that is what takes away the lower elevation hesitations. I was just lazy and moderated the rpm through the throttle for the ride in. Just my choice that's all.

My friend Kallon is back in town for a while, so today we headed down the road a bit to get away from the paving crew...lol

Found some really good snow today, but it was socked right in up high. So we headed for the trees.

We were hard on equipment today though, Kallon bent his bars, and I almost cooked my sliders and ripped off a brake wire and
it kept on beeping and saying the park brake was on... Very annoying...lol

Other than that, wicked day and this week is looking really good!

Think the sliders will fit through the square cut outs on the track? Looks like I'll be replacing sliders 3 or 4 times this winter.

Don't want to pull the skid every time.

Thanks Dan

What Dan said .
If not just cut two holes a touch bigger and turn to though's every time you have to change hyfax.

I was thinking that. Do you think if you cut the track it will make it weaker and more vulnerable to ripping?

I'm not sure about the durability on this track. It has been holding up pretty good so far though.

Your not cutting enough to worry about IMO.
Maybe a 1/8 on each side of the existing port?
Cut and hit with a torch ?
Done deal.

Ok cool, thats what I'll do. Pulling the skid is a PITA.

Thanks Dan:beer:
