Road up wasn't plowed at all from the "toll booth". we followed an empty logging truck to km 11 and said that was enough....
Unloaded and rode Hobo. Had a blast and got a great ride on the new XM. Super deep and sled ran wicked with a few Racers Edge additions :)

Great day today in Silent. Only 6 of us in there all day. Decent weather and good vis for us. A little wind blown and hard crusty snow up top but good snow with good base in the trees and great climbing. Great to meet Taminator out there. But some bad luck with their other sled. Hope you got out without too many issues.

Great to meet you too RN :) We got out fine, no issues. Getting the sled on the deck was a bugger :p but with some manpower and a side of woman power, we did ok lol. Electrical issue…got it to the shop last night. :)

A little of both really….
Was up there on Tuesday and found some areas that were definitely wind blown and set up, but did find some good spots as well.
Never ventured to the backside at all, but know peeps were already back there for sure. Trail was pretty good up in there when we came out.
Still parking at 45ish bridge. Logging past the bridge on main road and coming out of 17km road as well.

How many km is it front the staging area to the cabin/riding area? Anyone heading up tomorrow?

Thanks!

Was up in silent today. Good snow in the trees. Tracked out for the most part everywhere else. Parked at 46km and its about a 12km ride in. As far as I know there isn a cabin in silent...

Thanks for the info. We are not too stressed about the snow being tracked out. Just want to explore the area, as we've never been up to Silent. Will be proceeding cautiously due to the avy conditions.

McMurdo Forestry cabin is not far from the riding areas.

There were quite a few people up there on Saturday the 18th. Pretty tracked out, but for our first time up there, it was a lot of fun. Played mainly in the low angle and flat areas (Lake and Meadow), and down in the trees due to the avy condition. Really cool place to see though. Definitely not a day trip from Calgary. 46km up that road is a bit of drive on an ice road.

What was I thinking on doing a day trip from Red deer. Lol. And parking was at km 30ish.
