Sportsman 800 AWD problem. 4x4 won't engage

I am having a problem with my 2006 Polaris Sportsman 800 that I bought used.
AWD won't engage. The screen lights up HOT and Chek engine
The 4wd light does not comes on.
Every function on the speedometer appears to be working properly.
I think it's something electrical because the problem arised right after replacing old dead battery.
Please need help or send me the directions for checking out the front end.

The light is coming on and that shows you have power going through the switch so you'll likely have to pull the front diff out. Sounds like a broken cage.

is your fan running? if not could be your thermosensor which could be making the check engine light come on. pull the codes and see what it gives you.

i second the broken cage....... polaris and there plastic fugin parts.... real stupid setup in the front diff if u ask me..... have changed many...
