Good Lord. NASCAR just announced penalties to the 24 and 48 cars for issues with the greenhouse areas in their cars from last weekend. 60 points and 5 playoff points plus cash again. Hendricks of course said they will appeal. Why not? If they only get slaps on the hand I would too!

Denny Hamlins penalties upheld for intentionally crashing Chastain. Apparently the evidence was over whelming! 😂

NASCAR showed its displeasure about the recent Hendrick ruling by the appeal board and has added a new rule to the rule book stating an appeal panel will have more limited options for downgrading a penalty to a competitor in future appeals. Denny Hamlin has flipped over this as he is in the process of appealing again over the last panels decision on his file and can’t believe NASCAR is changing the rules in the middle of an existing appeal. Interesting stuff.

Typical novelty race. Late caution causes demo derby and mixes up the field. Congrats to Christopher Bell.

Back to real racing at Martinsville next week. Could turn in to a wreckfest as well if guys start paying guys back from last few races.

Is dirt really the problem? Or is an over saturated area of racing. Blue collar people don’t have $ for fun? I don’t care for dirt either. When I ordered tickets for the Saturday nite race at Bristol couple years ago, was asked if I wanted finance the tickets. Meaning they would charge my cc in 4 payments. I was so confused, never heard of such a thing for a sporting event.

nascar says equal parts for teams to level the playing field and cut costs. yet you have to build a specific car for one stupid dirt race. must be beaners running the show now.

Dirt is the problem for me.

I was looking to make a trip to a race in April, looked at the schedule, saw Bristol, said right on, dates fit, a bucket list race. Then I saw it was on the dirt. The wife wins. Were going on a cruise.

If I’m the track owner I’m looking at the cost to cover that track with dirt and then take it back off for the fall race to have maybe a third capacity for the Cup race and a 1/10 for the trucks?

Just watched a video of Kyle Larsen getting questioned about Bristol and he basically said this wasn’t real dirt racing as the cars aren’t designed for that surface and drive slow like tanks. He said he can’t wait to come back and race on the concrete and maybe this race has run it’s course as most drivers feel the same way and the track promoter can’t be happy with the dwindling crowds each year.!
