Hey everyone, I've been lurking for a while now, thought I'd gather some wisdom from you.

I've got a 96 MXZ 583 that I'd like to make a little more capable for my wife or friends to occasionally use in the mountains and around home. I'm thinking a 136 or 144 track with about a 1.5" lug. Will I have enough clearance to the tunnel cooler for this? Can I just get 136" rail extensions and move the skid back for a 144" track? I would probably gear the sled down as well, I've had it over 140 on the road which is WAY faster than I need to go.

Anyone got parts they're looking to get rid of?

Thanks

You'll need the standard items tunnel extension, drop brackets and rail extensions. For your ride being a 583, I wouldnt go longer than a 141". althought the 136 may be easier. You may not have to regear if you go with 8t extro drivers. Also you can likely reuse your stock drop brackets if your on a tight budget. The mxz will likely have a 3/4" plywood seat base so if you can save some money elsewhere try and get a lighter not so absorbant seat. I might also suggest pipes to help turn the bigger track in the hills Deano670 may be parting out a tuned 583 hit him up for more info. I recently stretched a 121" 97 670 out to a 151 with 2" paddles so what you want to do is possible. I have a 136 take off track you can have for a cold case of beer if youd like!!
lets see some pics of your project.

Nice looking sled KORE! Thanks for the info. I might take you up on that track. What size lug is it?
