Dodge 3500 with leveling kit and rough ride

I have a Rev Tek front leveling kit, and Fox 2.0 shocks all the way around on my 2014 3500 long box. Rides better then stock, a much smoother ride. Bought the leveling kit from Ponoka Chrysler (403-783-5383), shocks came from H2R distributing - call Melissa @ 604-746-3350. Money well spent.

North Shore off road has the Icon 2.0 shocks for $123 each. Dont know much about that brand. just want a good quality shock made for 0-2.5" lift thet might help my ride. Even a little bit would be nice. Have heard good things about the Icon brand??

Boxer this is what I would put in.
I know a few fellas that installed this and a way better ride.
The coils make a huge improvement .

I run the carli 2.0 with bilsteins in my 2010 3500. I put the firestone long travel bags in the back and the carli mini leaf pack. I would go with their full leaf progressive next time. I think it would smooth out the back a little more. Make sure the shocks you buy come with oil suited for cold weather. I dealt with HRT in Okotoks.

Do you have longer front shocks on it since you leveled it?
If not then shocks are a place to start, however just ordering them off a website will get you generic valving. When I replaced all of mine on my 03 2500 with Bilsteins they were generic valved and quite stiff. Looked around and purchased Bilstein 5100's valved specifically for our trucks from Carli, night and day difference!
White body shocks are def cheaper but you get what you pay for, I would suggest the Carli 5100's or valved Fox 2.0's.

Today I installed 2" longer Skyjacker shocks in the front and firestone air bags in the back. Night and day ride quality difference. Should have done this way sooner.

The biggest bang for your ride is changing rear leafs. The rear causes 60-70% of your poor ride.
Thuren coils are softer than Carli. I've ran both, I prefer Thuren stuff. His sway bar helps release the front diff from the crazy stiff factory junk.

If you want to see how bad your factory sway bar is. Just disconnect it for a week.

Next i will replace the oem rear shocks next but for the small amount of money spent the ride is way better, thanks guys. photo.JPG

A poor mans fix is to cut the overload back so you have 7" on each side. I tried it but I have air bags to make up for hauling loads.
It helped as the leaf pack rides so much on that over load making it way too stiff.

So Now have moved on to a 2012 Dodge 3500. did the 2" leveling kit and here we are again back at the shock question. can someone confirm the correct part number for bilstein 5100 shocks for my truck with the 2" leveling kit? also money aside will i get a better ride with the bilsteins or the icon 2.0 shocks. i dont do much off roading but ride quality is more important.

So far I have had skyjacker shocks and pro comp pro runner shocks and have really been dissapointed .

The bilstein shocks are good for stock to 3" of lift. Just put them in my dually and what a difference! Sorry can't remember the part number

I've had dodge 4x4 1 tons most of the last 20 years, and always found dropping tire pressures down to around 40 - 50psi, substantially helps the ride of the big truck. but when pulling or loaded jack the pressures back up. otherwise, I found the rancho 7000 or 9000 series shocks to work wonders too.

because of the ride of the lumber wagons, is why I switched to a 1/2 ton with the electronic air ride suspension, and don't need a 1 ton anymore :) ... I don't feel beat up, driving across the city anymore.... just my 2 cents worth

you still look beat up after driving across the city though........
