coolant question???

just wondering if that cap plug on the side of each cylinder by the rave valve assembly will drain coolant if i remove. want to install a rkt head and want to partially drain. anybody know? also wondering if any body uses waterwetter or engine ice in there sleds to keep coolant temps down . can't hurt if it reduces coolant temps especially on the xp with stock thermostat housing.
anybody know?

use a suction device and remove the coolant from the resevoir this will remove it from the cylinder head.

I use engine ice in my YFZ 450 but did not really notice a difference in cooling. I don't have a temp gauge so all I can tell about the engine temp is how often the fan comes on and I'm sure it didn't change. For the cost of it, I would go with something else.
