normal everyday 75 or 80W gear oil will work, should be able to pick it up at any gas station.

I got the OK from honda to use my chaincase oil in the front diff of my foreman.

Cheers

75 80 seems way to thick comparied to the OEM oil. my standard tranny in my 4x4 zuki calls for 75-80 but it shifts and runns way better with ATF. alot of standard trannys use ATF and it is light enough that the cold doesnt make it thick.

I run Amsoil in my sled , but I used to run John Deere Syn Hydralic/tranny oil in my t-case, diff's of all my trucks. Worked great.

What DaveB said^^^ X2. I run the Penzoil 75W140 synthetic, have for years and never had an issue.

Really, you can run probably a lot of different types or weights, so long as the bearings and chain are getting lubed properly.

I run synthetic gear oil 75W90 from Crappy Tire. You can buy a litre for less than half the price of the BRP 350ml bottle. It's just a chain & sprokets similar to a front wheel drive transaxle or a timing chain in an engine. I cannot believe such a simple chaincase unit requires such expensive oil.

The 75W90 actually flows better in the cold than the BRP chain oil.

found some amsoil for $10 looks good so going with that. BRP oil is way to much for what it does. thanks everyone for all your input
