Best location to tie in power for KOSO gauge on 2010 M8?

Thought I would ask before I commit cause I have done dumb things before. So I have a sled with the key and tether installed when I bought it and the sled is a 2010 M8 Sno-pro. I was gonna tie into either the black or purple for power and ground to bulkhead cause the KOSO gauge is positioned above tether release so it can be run with hood off.
Sorry for long winded story...Where would you guys rather tie into and why is all I want to ask? And I assume the purple would be positive if it would be ok?

I tied into the reverse beeper. I forget the wire colors now but it was easy to figure out.
