We have a 96 300 fourtrax on the farm with 9000km on it and have never touched it beside oil changes and maint. The battery is even original and stored in cold storage all winter and I have never had to even charge it. There isn't one piece of machinery on our farm that has the service record the honda has with no trouble.

Did it on a buddies '01 Rubicon.
Did a Warn 2 wheel/4 wheel kit at the same time. Made it much better to drive.

do you own a shop? Or just do it yourself? I'd be interested in trying something like that... a buddy may sell my wife his 500 fm

We did it ourselves in a few hours in buddies garage.
Wasn't too bad and the directions were pretty good.
Pull the axles and with some wiggling after the diff, pull it apart and follow the directions.

My brother in law just bought a new Forman 500 it's still a turd! Still rides like a quad from 1990 and still has drum brakes like a quad from 1990. But at least it has diff lock now. Maybe in another 10 years it will have disc brakes and independent rear suspension.
