Looking at buying a run around sled for here in alberta around the 5,000 mark and it looks like i can pickup a 600 HO from Polaris but have no experience with them at all and looking for opinions on longevity and quality of the 600 from polaris. Heard the hoor stories about the 800's so does that apply to the 600 as well?

Not sure if our 600 is an HO (it's got carbs) but it's been a great sled, very light feel, and pretty snappy performance. I used to have an 08 800 Dragon 163" and I would ride the 600 locally every time, just more fun. The 600 gets left at home though, now that I have the Pro!!!

Thanks for the input, some say their 600 is an ho and some dont say. They are probably the same setup but just wanted to make sure it was not junk like the 800 is. Did the 700 also have the same issue as the 800's? There are a few good deals on 700's out there as well but scared of having to do a motor or something right away for low mile sleds.

700 has a good rep, not sure why Polaris dropped it? I never had any issues with my 800 Dragon, but sold it with about 1500Kms

Have an 09 600 and 07 700 and both run great. 600 is a blast to ride, just doesn't have the snap of the 700/800. 4000 miles on the 600 and runs great engine never been apart.

My experience with my 2006 600 switch was quite good. No issues before I sold it after putting about 1000km on it. It was fast on the hardpack, lakes, but the gearing and track left a bit to be desired in the deep but it would go most places albeit wide open.

I bought another 600 (a 2010 RMK this time, piped, clutched, etc), after hearing a lot of bad things with the 800's, I didn't want to chance it. I think you will be happy with it! Don't hear of too many blown up 6's.

The H.O was carbed, the cleanfire is the injected and will adjust automatically for fuel. If you ad the attac system to the ho you would get sort of the same thing.

I have an '07 600 HO. Bulletproof motor. Over 5000 miles on it. Picked it up last year for 4k and first thing I did was install a Holtzman ATACC. Changing out the jets it a major PITA otherwise. My son rides this sled... I've played around a bit and handles great. It's an RMK 155.

i had 2006 fuison 600 HO carb ran great all the time. 3000 miles then i sold it bought a mountain sled wish i woulda keep my fusion. dad runs 2007 IQ touring 600 cleanfire fuel injection kick the $#it out of my fusion. he still has it and it runs great 3200 miles and still rips. only thing to watch out for would be the voltage regulator on 600 i had to get it upgraded and moved from under the engine to the top.

Some good advice right there, they are no fun to rejet, I ended up changing the pilot jets to the next smaller size to get rid of a low end bog. I run a vari-flow and EGT gages on ours, works great.
