never too much HP !!!

I heard an interview with jet boat racers. they were saying that boats with over 1800hp had too much HP. they had to get out of the throtle, and spool up again. where as the 1600hp boats just had "er wide open the whole time thus no lag ...
at that stage the 1600hp boats were winning. maybe its changed now that the guys have had a few seasons to sort thier sheet out ...
