Highway alert: As of 9:00 a.m. Alberta Transportation's highway maintenance contractors are advising that Highway 41 south of Elkwater to the United States border remains closed due to severe weather and road conditions. As of 10:30 am, a further 5 to 10 centimetres of snow is expected for Medicine Hat, Bow Island, Suffield, Cardston, Fort Macleod, Magrath, Crowsnest Pass, Pincher Creek, Waterton Lakes National Park,and 10 to 20 centimetres in the Cypress Hills Provincial Park area. Please travel with extreme caution.

Details
Snow continues to fall over Southern Alberta. Snowfall amounts of 30 to 40 cm were reported in the Cypress Hills region of Southeastern Alberta and in the Crowsnest Pass area of Southwestern Alberta. This very slow moving system will produce another 5 to 10 cm of snow over the Cypress Hills regions and foothills of Southwestern Alberta tonight. Conditions will continue their slow improvement on Thursday. Please refer to the latest public forecasts for further details.
