Went out on Sunday to Cataract with my Dad, Katie, and my neighbor Dave and his son Troy. Dave was gracious enough to lend us a sled so Katie could come out and shred with her Grampa and myself.
I've been waiting for this day for a while. We weren't sure if dad's back was going to hold up so I made it very clear to him if he lasts 30 minutes or an hour it's all good. He just had a cortisone shot so it was perfect timing. He lasted all day and did fantastic!
I can't explain how happy I was to be out with my Dad AND my Daughter.

Way to go Dad & Katie! Great to see multi generations of a family getting out and enjoying snowmobiling together. Good for you to choose an area suitable for the purpose and skill level so everyone has a good time. I love hearing and reliving the old days over a fire and a hotdog on rides like this. Remembering our first 1967 snowcruiser with its whopping 11 hp puts the new sleds and turbo's into perspective!

Thanks for all of your comments.

The snow conditions were perfect, the trails were perfect, not all whooped up. Really could not have been a better day.

Exactly. Dad was pretty timid at first. I offered him the 800 a few times he said "No way this 600 is way more power than I need". Once he did get on it he said "Man, that 800 pulled so smooth and hard" lol.

Thank you for sharing, your video brought back some great memories for me. I got to ride with my Dad and Grampa a couple of times when I was younger, they are gone now and those memories are very special to me.

Few things in life are better enjoyed than be able to do something as unique as snowmobiling with someone as special as your father. I am lucky enough to be able to still do this with mine and cherish it every time we go

Unfortunately due to living 7 hours apart I'm not able to get him out. :-(. Parents are staying with us middle of January when they return from their vacation. They have a stop over with their flight at Calgary. Not sure the fligt details buy I'm hoping they can stay for a few days and get him out once more.

Highfly, Thanks for sharing this video..I remember watching it way back then and thought "I hope that I can take my brother and my kids someday". Fast forward 3 years and my brother now has his own sled and my girls(15 & 13) now ride their own sleds. We can now ride as a family (my wife,Two girls and my bro) which is something I always dreamed of doing. I'm glad you had the opportunity to take your father out and hope you get the chance again soon.

He has quite a few years on you. One thing he said to me a long time ago was if he had a chance to do it all over again he would spend more time with us kids. He was a long haul trucker and back then made a good living doing it. We didn't see him very much but we had the first VCR, first Microwave, best BMX bikes than all my friends. We kids thought we had it pretty good. The few times he was home to see us play hockey or watch us in school sports was that much more special to us. But after he told me that it made me realize how much we both missed out. I live by his words to this very day and spend as much time with my daughter as I can.
