Interest has always been this way, not sure why "oh my god that's a lot of interest!" Rates were higher in the 80's, a lot higher. Don't like em, stop borrowing. Don't blame the banks, if you can money cheaper than get it there.

I disagree. You can buy alot of different fruits and vegetables between $1-2 a lbs, lots of meat (chicken especially) goes on sale for $2 a lbs. Rice and potatoes are dirt cheap.
Remember that for the majority of human history, we spent most of our time and resources just feeding ourselves. Now we eat like kings for a small portion of our income. And I'd say most people (myself included) eat way more calories than they actually need

Same thing down here. Found 2 baseball sirloins on sale at Co op for $14.99. That’s $7.50 a steak. Had one tonight and it was awesome. Just gotta look for deals

I still think on minimum wage or whatever the average Canadian wage is, you are scraping to get by. Whether it's walmart meat and veggies or bargin deals. If you have young kids, one parent is working just to pay day care. Saving money to buy a beater...well that is how this whole thing started. Everything is too expensive to save money right now. We are being set up to fail. Young kids nowadays are being set up to live with their parents for a long time.

We have been buying blade steaks on sale at superstore lately. They have definitely gone up in price the last few years but they have been excellent. I was actually very impressed

Average in Ab is $50g. That's not very much.

Phew you guys are finding food way cheaper than here. Chicken breast is like $15 for 3, you’re not getting a ribeye steak for less than $15 a piece just the steak. We mainly buy our meat by the 1/4 cow and from local when possible buy the stores aren’t cheap

These new mortgage rules are for new home builds only for first time home buyers which makes up 3% of transactions, so it is a nothing burger, all political theatre.

Yes it's expensive for groceries but There is no way you can eat out cheaper than home.
Pound of hamburger $7, bag of buns $6, makes 6 hamburgers, four potatoes cut into fries and you have a meal . It costs $50+ for a+w for my family.
People need to get back to buying direct from farmers, side step the corporate bs grocery stores may not be cheaper but better quality and supporting the guy who does the work, not a suit in an office.

My nephew is single and for the last 10 years, he says....... that it's still more economical for him to eat out 2-3 times a day, instead of buying groceries for himself.

Groceries are not cheap and when your by yourself, you don't always want to cook. By no means is Josh lazy

Damn economy. Used to get the seafood platter for two for me at Zalas most every weekend. This year Dean drop the seafood platter because no one orders it anymore. Can’t afford it lol
