Almost most of the BC border towns are saying the same thing. MY doctor in Sparwood says due to the lack of hospitals and beds it wouldn't take much to overload the system. The Elkford medical office closed down this week till further notice. He said they will have to ship patients to Cranbrook but that hospital is not huge. The ride over there would take a ambulance and 3 attendees out of the system for at least one day. Scary times for sure

Wouldn't you just head home to Alberta if you were feeling sick? I know I would long before I would need medical attention.

Its more of a concern of you bringing the virus with you and getting locals sick. They are unable to deal with an outbreak. People need to stop traveling for a bit.

Mixed messages. Trudeau's wife traveled to Quebec from Ontario after her quarantine to go to their cottage with the kids.
Also I agree, you should not mix with the community, in Alberta or BC.

You can show no symptoms for a few days before you feel sick and be infected .
Spreading the virus without even thinking you are !!
Stay home for a bit .

The search for better amenities was one reason for moving last summer. As we are getting older, it made sense that medical services were probably going to get tested. It is too bad that smaller places don't have the services/staff that they used to as smaller communities are great for looking out for each other.

I’m working in Alberta with people that travel from all over Canada, on shift rotation.....seems like unfair to me.

That would take some common sense, which 90%of the population have none which is proven on here every day.

From all the reading I've been doing this is all I can figure differentiates this from a seasonal flu.... and the potential severity, but a seasonal flu can be pretty brutal and also fatal.

You can have this Covid bug and show zero symptoms nothing...nada...zip (not only for days prior but show no symptoms PERIOD) I could have it as could anyone in my office, or the grocery store or Burger King (BTW it's Whopper Wednesday) and never know it without being tested hence the need to sanitize and avoid close contact with others.
