Has an MBRP can on it..tunnel bags..and a 190lb dry rider(240lbs geared up roughly)

Roosterbuilt clutch kit geared up 1 tooth.

The paperwork came with a suggested pin weight of 15.9g

The sled would only run 7600rpm on clicker 4, Silent Pass, Reve, Sicamous...

As I dont have a scale I am looking for some help. In the picture, the far left set screw is what came out of the roosterbuilt clutch kit, The set screws on the right is what I have for adjustment. Ive read 1g=roughly 100rpm but I cant find the piece of paper that says what each set screw is for weight?

I tried emailing roosterbuilt but their email is full and it kicked back to me.

head down to your local pawn shop and pick up a "g" scale, $20-30, the pin weight kit does come with a sheet of what each set screw weights but im up at work right now.

Did u put ramps in that is recommended with kit - had 13XM 163 with RB clutch - wouldnt pull rpm - had to put ramps in to get proper rpm ! I did change weights before installing ramps - but it didnt help much

should be .5G, 1G, 2G
run 14.5G pin weight with what you have or go 15G and a little heavier spring in front.

2 years, 10 mountain rides. It never RPM'd since the kit was installed, just always lived with it to be honest.
They might not be prime but shouldn't be causing you 300 rpm of grief then. The kit didn't come with springs? A little more finish pressure will give you a bit more rpm without compromising belt squeeze as mush as lowering pin weight.

Springs came with the roosterbuilt kit.

441 ramps
pin kit
top gear
primary spring
secondary spring
helix

Installed as per the kit and just never RPM'd much. My first year with the clutch kit I spent more time worrying about not getting stuck as it was my first focused year on mountain riding. The 2nd season I got more comfortable on the sled and noticed it wouldnt RPM as it should.

I sent an email to dynamo joe, I'll glady buy springs and whatever I need from him. I cant see the setup being that far off, dynamo joe uses the 441 ramps as well in his kits and I dont see much for complaining.

Yeah sounds like you're just a spring or some pin weight away from having your RPM. Aim for 7900 on clicker 3. I ran one of Joe's kits in a previous sled and it took a bit of tweaking as well. Didn't work straight out of the box but was close.

Agreed, I just dont know enough about clutches if I step up in primary spring rate, where I have to go with my pin weights, From what I can gather I wont be able to knock enough pin weight off to get the desired RPM Im shooting for?

I would be more tempted to leave the pin weight alone and add some finish pressure on the primary spring. I can't remember the relationship between pressure and rpm but Joe has it on his site. ( I think it's about 30# per 200 RPM).

A weaking spring will only get weaker and cause u to keep taking weight away to correct

Put a new spring in and see first

Also a worn out belt will cause u to max out clickers to keep rpm

Pop the stock muffler on to eliminate that end.
If no change try gearing back down the one tooth?
Do the easy stuff first.
Winter and Joe have great kits and seems to be weird that it's that far off .

Haven't seen one of these yet Rev properly. Without checking my notes I think 380 was the finish rate on primary spring to run 15.9 G
Springs that came with kit we old only get to Rev properly with 14.5G unless clicker was on 6 which is no good.

All that stuff is in the garbage bin.

I dont think its a power issue, the sled runs great but when you can watch the tach on a long climb its at 7600 no question. Track and belt tension has been checked and is correct.

I dont think its weird at all... They both taylor the kit to each order... assuming each sled is consistent. Im not placing blame, would just like to fix the RPM issue. Im going to give roosterbuilt a call after 3pm their time and have a chat. See what they suggest.

In the instructions for kit they say starting point and adjust pin weight as required for desired RPM if I am not mistaken.
Have install quite a few of Joes kits and his recommendations are really close most times.
That's on his kit though.
Only reason for muffler change is some after market cans can cause problems.
Just nice to eliminate the aftermarket add on's one by one.

Id go back to the stock gearing for 1. Not sure why they'd gear up that sled unless its Turboed. It does not run out of gearing stock.

There is 0 good reasons to gear that sled up a tooth.(that I can see) What are you going for, top speed runs on the lake??

All its going to do is put more load on, and your clutches will never fully shift.
