oil pan trouble

so i got a question
I was putting puck bored on the bottem of my nytro for added strangh.
but i accadently pocked a hole threw the oil pan with a self tapper.Im
going to just put a short one in with two orings to seal it off.but i
had one question.do i have to take off the hole pan or just run it and will the oil filter catch my shavings?(they are very small,it was a small screw and the pan is a 1/8 of an inch thick)

Do you really want to trust your filter to protect your very expensive engine from contamination you introduced into the oil pan? Take it off and get it welded properly.

exactly. the other thing that would worry me is that the screw would vibrate out and drain your oil at the most inopportune moment.
