What's the middle driver for on an rmk ?

What's the deal on this, is it just a gimmick or does it really work ?

its so snow can pack in between them so tight it will actually make it ratchet, seen this happen, garbage setup.

The pro has a newer thinner centre driver.... that is suppose to not let snow build up in there.
Only time will tell.
