Same idea for me - have a pelican case bolted down to my summit tunnel.
Always dry inside.
I moved it from the Blue summit to the Black one because with my new Boss seat on the Blue Summit there isn't enough space for the Pelican Case and a fuel can

Here is what happens with a Ski-doo tunnel bag when cans aren't packed tight enough

i have the BRP expandable tunnel bag, first ride out the top zipper opened up, lost my keys to my truck, spare goggles, knife, matches, ect. learned that day always keep keys at truck or on yourself. my keys were found by another rider on the trail thank god!!

on the way out one of the plastic clips broke and the bag fell off and was dragging behind. not really meant for the rough trails in and out of the mountains. maybe better for groomed trails.

this is the bag

I've got that same bag and it so far has stood up to quite a bit of abuse. I really like mine. The one BRP had out before that, like Slamnek's had cheap crap zippers. I broke 2 of them.

I got tired of tunnel bags coming apart, straps ripping off the bag, things getting wrecked, etc so I tried a Pelican Case and have been very happy. Even though its not shown in these photos, I bought the rubber tunnel pad that Cat sells and it sits on that. Nylon straps are rivoted to the case and are as snug today as the day they went on. After the first ride, I installed a stainless steel tri-loop between the strap and the hook to help keep the straps in good shape. I can tighten it up on the tunnel and it never moves. This setup weights 8.2lbs.

The average tunnel load weight it can support is 30lbs. Dont quote me on it but that what I remember seeing.

If I remember right the BRP bag which I have, had a tag on it saying do not exceed 15 lbs...but that doesn't take much to go over 15. I'm at about 20. The tunnel will support it but I wonder about when you start banging the stuff up and down. That's a lot of pressure on the tunnel.

I guess a guy could always rivet some aluminum rails along or under the tunnel (as long as it doesnt affect the track and cooling) for extra support so the weight is evenly distributed.

Best thing by far is.......

Dewalt tool case. I had a cordless drill box on my REV, just riveted it on.

On my XP I have a biscuit joiner box, it's perfect width, 6 inches high and 9 inches from front to back. It is tough, and probably 1/6 the price of a pelican box. You can put a weather stripping seal to make it water resistant/.
I just bungee it to my gas rack.

A little laquer thinner and the yellow print comes right off.

sorry for the lousy pics..LOL
