My name is Steve, and I just picked up myself a 1981 Yamaha Enticer 340. It's in pretty decent shape for the year. I'll have to do a few mods, and fix up a few things like the hood and belly pan.
I bought it originally for the ditches and coullie riding, but since I've found this sight, I may be in for a lot more........if anyone can recommend a good place for trail ridin' with vintage sleds, I'm all ears!! Is Cataract Creek a good start?
Cheers!!

Welcome to the site Steve. In response to your question; Cataract has some good trails but you'd be best keeping to the lower trails with that short track or you'll be digging it out a lot. The lower trails have about 6-10" of snow right now and there's lots there to give you a few good outings.

I hear there are also some great trails out near Bearberry (West of Sundre) but again, you're going to want some packed trails and should stay out of any deep powder. If you go to the Calgary Snowmobile Club website there are links to all the other clubs throughout Alberta and BC.

They have a club meeting the third Tuesday of each month so maybe you want to attend tomorrow night and see what it's all about. I am sure some of the members could point you in all the right directions. Membership is cheap and includes a trail pass for Alberta.

NEXT MEETING:
Tuesday, December 15, 2009 – 7:30 pm
West Hillhurst Community Hall, 1940 - 6 Ave NW

The meeting hall is up above the arena in a room that's just off to the side of the bar/lounge.

Thanks for the welcome guys!

And thanks for the info Gascan! I'll try to check out that club. I figured groomed trails would be the best choice. Just wasn't sure if Cataract did grooming or not.
