Valemount Grooming Update

Barring any unforeseen circumstances, the ALLAN CREEK
snowmobile area will be groomed this evening. We are doing what we
can with the trail in this strange weather, please watch for ICY sections
around corners. Beginner riders should consider the Clemina Creek
area as an alternative.

Barring any unforeseen circumstances, The Clemina Creek
snowmobiling area will be groomed throughout the Holiday week
(Nights of Dec 28-31), and throughout the following weekend.
Although close, currently we do not have the lower elevation snow to groom the Chappell Creek or new Keyhole trails.

We have received some fresh snow and the riding is getting better
although, we still have a fairly thin base so watch for open creeks, rocks
and other obstacles that can ruin your day.

"Pack out What you Pack in"

Be AVALANCHE aware; make sure you are aware of your
surroundings and know the snow conditions in the area. Check your
avalanche conditions before heading out at Welcome to avalanche.ca

ATTENTION ALL SNOWMOBILERS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
IT IS ESSENTIAL TO THE FUTURE OF OUR RIDING AREAS
THAT ALL WILDLIFE CLOSURES BE RESPECTED. IT IS YOUR
RESPONSIBLITY TO KNOW THE AREA BOUNDRIES BEFORE
HEADING UP THE TRAIL. Please report any Caribou sightings to
VARDA office at 250-566-4817.

PLEASE PARK IN DESIGNATED SNOWMOBILE AREAS ONLY!! PARKING IN HIGHWAY PULLOUTS AND USING THE RIGHT OF WAY IS ILLEGAL and is
being enforced by the Ministry of Transportation

Thankfully we have recieved good doses of fresh in the last couple of days

Snowing at night with nice clear skies in the day the last two days

Oasis yesterday had excellent snow 180cm, so still needs a base and another snowfall

Chappell today was a killer ride in, snow is good although still thin on the trail compared to other years, grooming soon to come. UNREAL snow in the alpine with very few riders. Only two of us on the lower lake. Ride in is roughly 1-1.5hrs:eek:, but worth it. 195cm, so still needs a base and another snowfall

Sorry my little digi camera is down and my wife wont let me use the shiney one

Allan Creek trail is vast improved over previous weeks, thanks to the new snow.

Good conditions, although I will still say that the base is thin.

Here are a few shots from the day

nope, nothing major seen, although the potential is there with all the wind loading lately. I treat it the same all the time anyway. This area has seen snow, but nothing like that coastal dumping a few weeks ago. We were -35 at that time.

Always play safe

Thanks, we where hoping for powder, we where up for the week in Valemount also.
One of the sleds had issues the first day of the trip, as a result we came back early. Engine issues, had to get towed out.

Hey Curtis when do you think Chappel will be groomed?

we rode chappel friday... trail in was hard on the body and sled but once u got up to the top it was soooo worth it.... got off my sled to help a guy get unstuck... i was eye level with my running boards... first thing i thought was "man this was a bad idea helping this guy" haha... none the less an awesome day in the sun with endless pow.

Finally, we are recieving the snow that Valemount is known for. We have had continued snowfall this week and it just keeps coming. Riders should look forward to exceptionally deep powder riding this weekend. Thanks to the new snowfall we are now on our normal grooming schedule and will be working on the Chappell Creek trail this thursday evening.

Currently a complete white out here in town with heavy accumulation ! I hope this keeps up for a week:d
