Turbo waste gate

I have a 2001 dodge 2500 deisel can you block the waste gate off for more boost and power or am i asking for problems .so for i have superchips programer and kn filter

If it has a manual you have a HX-35 turbo and you can buy a boost elbow that threads in to the wastegate port. If you have an auto you have HY-35 turbo which is a solid piped wastegate, in order to build more boost with the HY you need a j hook assembly like one in the link

Note you shouldn't build more than 40 psi of boost with whichever turbo because then your at risk of blowing a head gasket (unless you have head studs). I have heard that max effiency with a HX-35 is 35 psi and with a HY-35 is 28 psi, if you go above that your just blowing hot air into your motor and defeating the purpose. Hope that helps.
