Trails in golden......

Which places or area's would you folks recommend for trail rides..preferably longer trails which are groomed.....and are any open yet ???


Was thinking about heading up with some friends and want to play it safe...as it will be family oriented...

I would recommend heading into the Chatter Creek area. That ride into the lodge is usually well groomed and very scenic. The trail in is over 80 km long. There are a couple of slide areas the trail crosses (like most low valley trails in) so caution is in order to recognize these areas and not stop. The folks at the lodge are very hospitable if you care to stop in for a visit.

I wouldn't recommend Chatter due to its very remote location, also not very family oriented and a very long drive (2.5 hrs one way) to ride for 1/2 hr and have the kids tell you they are cold, Blaeberry or Quartz would be a better option IMO.
