Just thought I'd start a new thread on the Torpy. I know it's a popular area on the other forums....let's see pics and get updates on snow conditions. These are pics taken from the Feb 21/22 weekend.

The Torpy has a bit of everything, from the not so steep, to the really, really steep. Lots of alpine, nice bowls, chutes, meadows, you name it. It's not an area very well known, for good reason. The locals like it kept a secret, and with our recent caribou closures we are left with only 10% of our former riding areas!! One word of advice.....the areas aren't marked....you will need someone that knows the area well before you go. We love the area and try to make it out there every chance we get!!

Oh....for the ones that are heading up this weekend. The new snow is epic. Two feet of fresh on top, beware of slides in some of the bowls. Here are some recent pics from last weekend and Tuesday March 17th.

This is a map of the closures....there is no signs posted yet so you need to either "know" the area or have a GPS!!

It's east of PG on the Giscome, then Upper Fraser Rd. to Hansard bridge, cross the Fraser and then you unload at the old McGregor camp. It's about a 30 miles road ride in on sleds until you hit the hills but soooo worth the trip.:d

Thanks so much... can't wait to try it!
