Got a older 70hp tractor with a blade.. have a nasty hill to plow up the driveway... I was curious if anyone has ever tried studs or lag screws in tractor tires and if so.... any comparison to tire chains?
I pretty much am only gonna use the tractor in the winter, and the tires are about half worn out... I figure I could get a 1 inch lag screw in them and still be a half inch from the inside of the tire. Any thoughts?

Chains all day, they are not to hard to put on and they won't screw up your tires.:cool:

Go with the chains as they would be safer than the screw for the operator or someone around the tractor as the screws could be forced out under some type of force.
just my thought
