post from snow west

" i am going to install and tune a complete standalone ecu(vi-tech) marine grade on my 700 cfi in 3 weeks and tune it on an engine dyno for max results.we will build 3d maps that we will sell to any person with a turbo kit installed on polaris 700-800 cfi and m8-m1000. it will be a complete plug and play(no special harness needed)since we will update the ecu harness to specific connectors for your sled.

i would like to know if there is enough interest on the 2 strokes market so we can manage to have a decent price at the end. i can get a pretty fair price on 20 and more standalone ecu.

remember, we will completely test 700-800 cfi and 800-1000 artic cat.

my tuner is

sebastien is a certified indy irl fuel injection specialist and he has tons of experience with 2 strokes sled............recently tuned a mx-z 1000 with a standalone ecu only no adds on and manage to pull 227 hp(at the crank)......skidoo base seal kept popping out of place!!

please email me or pm if interested in such an option to your sled......i'm sick and tired of those fuel box (piggyback) and a/f ratio gauges going crazy. we all put big money in our turbo kit and we all go cheap on the most important part wich is ecu......ok it won't be cheap but so efficient......no elevation problem,no timming problem ect...once maps are done it is a turn key and go setup.

thanks for your input "

Stand alone replaces your stock ecu and allows you to control your fuel and timing with out the addition of a piggyback controller(boodocker, attitude, power commander). It requires building a fuel map, but is more adaptive to variables that change such as alltitude and temp, and loads on the engine.

You got me interested my buddy and I both have 09 800 CFI dragons and would love to hear more about the standalone system. PM me or give me a number for me to call I am really interested and if it works as good as having a controller on we will both buy one. Thanks Jim

We have actually been working on this project now for over a year. After this weekend I would say I am very happy a couple little more tweaks it will be ready for consumer use. We should have the Apex version for consumer use in about 2 months. Soon after that we will release the Nytro version.

You could PM Gunnerthesnowman on here, or he is usually on SW. I had a hand in tuning, things were working very well. Ran out of time last year. Not sure what their plans are? Curt can answer any Q's.

Just something I've been thinking about...

How much old iron sitting around out there that's carbbed, 809 rotax's in a rev chassis, BB Tcats, 1200 - 1800 triples?

Do some motor work (lower comp., port timing,...), install a turbo, slap on a standalone FI system? There might be some surprising "new" iron on the hill!
