Where is the staging at this weekend?

It could be as high as Matheson or maybe above the next bridge. There wasn't a lot of snow on the lower part of the trail this year.

It is hard for that kind of rig this time of year. FYI, the snow line in Elkford is only meters off the road. That would work.

I heard Elkford was in worse shape then south of the highway... not even worth making the trip.

Fernie ski hill site says 32 cm in past 24 hours! Weather forecast also has snowfall warning. Anyone out that way know if that snow got to rolling hills too? Supposed to snow all night as well. Might have to head out in the morning.

On Sunday we parked at the bridge just below Matheson...some peeps had gone all the way to Matheson, but the snow was wooped out. In a couple of days you will be parking at the bridge above Matheson. Taking a 4 place up is asking for trouble...light weight 2 place at the most...sled deck the best.

Great conditions were had with calf to knee deep pow on top of a firm base. It was snowing and sunny at the same time, great pow day for mid April.
