How close to the town of Fernie can you ride?
Some family are planning a ski trip around Christmas, and I was going to bring a couple of sleds down.

I have never been down that way, and just curious if it's worth bringing the sleds down?

Thanks!

Also, what kind of riding is there around Fernie? Wide open bowls, tree riding, etc?
I have only been to Revy and Valemount.

We were up at the grey cr pass today. 1~1.3m . A very nice consolidated snowpack. A couple of melt/freeze layers but seemed to be bonding well. Looking pretty dam good for this time of year. 20cm new made riding one solid face shot.

We went skiing up the St Marys valley yesterday as well. It was a pow day. Still a bit thin to be running sleds in the fields, too many stumps for this guy.

Shaping up real nice.

Any new snow in the forecast I'm loaded and ready for next weekend.
I would even drive to Fernie if need be.
