I have a 2008 summit xp with some form of secondary issue. It seems that my secondary clutch keeps tightening the belt no matter how i adjust the belt deflection. Is something wrong with the helix or internal parts of the secondary.

most likely an issue of not doing the proper step to tightning the belt, instruction are on the clutch guard. if that doesnt work tear that b**** apart and check her out

Could be a number of things. The spring could be broke or simply worn out. They do need to be replaced and loose their force.

A broken or worn roller wouldn't cause the belt to tighten up all the time but could cause other rpm issues. As mentioned the adjuster is where to start first. If its plastic it should have been ditched a long time ago.
