HMK has been OK. Saw is a piece of chit. Shovel is solid and extension is nice.

ortovox, try MEC, good pricing but don't tell them u are a sledder, they will shun you.

SOS-good shovel. Don't trust the saw! I still have the scar on my thumb from 2 years ago from when mine snapped and gashed me. Buy a Stihl saw and keep it in your backpack.

Then why would you give them your money? :confused::confused:

They don't gouge you like many of the sled shops ie. my beacon was $315 at MEC and the local shops wanted $510 and wouldn't budge on the price.

I have a black diamond transfer 7 shovel and I love it, very sturdy.

Ya know folks.....the saw that comes in the shovel handle is for cutting snow, not trees!

Yes, that pissy arsed saw is for cutting snow blocks and doing compression/fracture tests on the snow. The test tells where the weak layers are in the snow pack.

If one is using this saw for trees then obviously they haven't honed their avalanche training.......AST1 just around the corner.
