I have always loved the 670 summit. great engine! if I wasnt driving my 900 I would love to build a 670 summit. I grew up on skidoos but it seams like I took a turn in life (because they were free lol) and now riding polaris. so dont let it fool you, the 670 summit I would give 2 thumbs up! oh I guess one question it how much $$$?

not the x.its $3200 and i have just found out it has a 144 inch track on it.

Not sure how much of a difference the "X" makes I'm sure someone on here can field that one..... The wifes is 144" as well with 2" paddles.
We paid $3000 for hers so I figure if it's not the X and here we are a season later you should be able to chew the price down.

Just my 2 cents....

there are some hard starting/flooding issues with the 670 motor when you put the machine upside down but other than that it is pretty much bullet proof.

As far as I know in 99 the x was the only one made, I have a shop manual listing all sleds in 99 and there is the summit 500/600/700 and the 670X. 99 was a transition year to the zx chassis, and some parts on the x are zx parts.

Thats correct if the 670 summit is not an x, then it is not a 99 In 98 they had a 670 summit and a 670summitx the main difference being that the x model had 44mm carbs and a dpm opposed to 40mmcarbs and a hac system on the regular 670 :d:d

wasnt the X also lighter like 10 pounds? the main difference was the dpm and carbs like RenegadeX said. I guess you want to check stuff like sliders and clutches to see if it has been serviced to properly evalueate the price, but most people will come down a bit from there asking price. if you dont buy it let me know because I have been looking for a 670 for the girlfriends mother lol.

A large # of the 98X's had head gasket issues. Stay away from that model.
