I've been looking all over the place, and i came across this 1999 Polaris XC 500. Now i know thier fantastic sleds, but i just want to hear it from you guys. Do you think it would be a good i dea to buy the sled, its going for $2000, it has about 8201km on it, and its mechanic owned. Should i buy it?

How about this, a 2000 Polaris XCSP 600. Selling for about $2400. Good price?
Good sled right?

Some 08 sleds aren't worth 2 bucks
Some 00 sleds are worth 2500 bucks.
Have it checked if you cant do it your self. Find out what major components would cost on that sled first. That way your prepared if something does go wrong.
Good Luck

I don't know a thing about Polaris, but seems like it would be a decent deal if its in good shape. The price really depends on what kind of shape it is...

First of all if the clock says 8200 km it really is saying 8200 MILES... all Polaris and Cats are built in the US and up until the early 2000's the anolog speedos are only in miles, not kilometers.

That being said... the the poor sled is probably reallly tired. I'd look else were for now or grind the guy down.

I could be wrong, but I thought Polaris' speedo's are still in Miles. (Probably wrong)

if your looking into a polaris at least go 2001 or newer, in 2001 they got the edge chassis so that gives you 14 inches of travel where as the 2000 and previous only had extra 10 suspension, (and some models extra 12), and it is only around 9-10 inches of travel, might save your back, good luck with the purchase:d

Rucky... you're right if you're talkin about the anolog speedo's... I believe most if not all digital speedos have the option of toggling back and forth between metric and miles. Mine does and most I have seen, Polaris as well give this option. :)

The sled mentioned above definately has an anolog speedo dissplaying miles.
