Primary Clutch

A buddy of mine has an 800, (not sure of the year, early to mid 2000's I think). And he has issues with his Primary. I haven't seen it yet.

He called me up last night to ask if the sheaves are supposed to be able to rotate separtely from eachother.
I told him I'm pretty sure they are supposed to spin together, (I'm hoping the should).

I told him to buy a new clutch, he is hoping just to replace whatever parts are needed in this one. But he can not take it apart.

I've never had a cat clutch apart yet, so I couldn't help him. Has anyone here taken one apart? got any good directions I can e-mail to him?

cat won't sell parts for clutches anymore just complete clutches , then add spring /weigths & and the sheaves spin together on the primary / and rotate on the secondary 1/3 of a turn only
