I have had this happen on my last two sleds, 1st time I thought it might be just wear items, but after the second time it must be due to something I am doing wrong, or not doing to maintain the primary.
What exactly happens is under WOT the primary clutch closes on the belt (obviously) but then gets stuck closed from a weight becoming jammed on its roller. I then need to hit the weight to get it to release (massive pressure from the spring so this isn't nice) to get the belt free.
Sleds it has happened on: 2016 Axys @ 1000 miles and my past 2013 RMK @ 1500 miles. I feel like this is low KM considering I clean all belt dust off, and even remove the spring and toothbrush clean the primary a few times throughout the winter.. I feel I do to much.. maybe that is the problem.
Should I be using some kind of graphite dry lube on the primary wear items (rollers, weight bushings) at all to get some more "life" out of these?
Current solution now is to remove and replace all wear items. Likely need new spring and weights now too.
