I have a 03 800 VE and my headlight is very dim, no tail light, no dash lights and no brake lights. I changed the voltage regulator from another VE that I own and still the same. Does anyone have any suggestions to help find this problem.

I have the exact same problem on a 200 700, but mine Im sure is the voltage reg. on a idle with the voltage reg disconected it works great. i did say on a idle. I need to find a one wire regulator to change to make sure. but Im 4 sleds behind right now and that is down the list. I hope it is not your lighting coil? you are 100% sure the other regulator is good?

Ya, both voltage regulators work on my other VE...I'm going to the dealer for a schematic tomorrow and dig a little deeper. It just might be the lighting coil, I'm going to to test that next.

Got it repaired, turned out to be a short to ground in the chanel that hides away the tail light harness at the rear underside tunnel. Thanks for suggestions!
