Hey the next time someone goes to Sugarbowl, please post me as we have always wanted to check it out but never had anyone that could tell us exactly how to get there, it would be nice to do a day ride there just to scratch the itch when we cant get out. I have heard that it is more of a late season ride though and can be as good as Revy, is that true?

contact safari guy he does tours into there, i tried gettin in a couple years back but low snow made it imposs. havent went again since. but i might have missed the easy way in or something not sure. best for first time to get a guide or someone that knows the area, apparently high avy area as well.

into the first saddle is always lacking snow from the high winds there,,,,,,, I think you could be blown off your sled there...... in the back end of the Bowl could be a avalance area,,,,, I have tried to get in on the littlehorn trail and we thought we might have to spend the night as one hill was almost impassable coming out,,,, pure ice and frozen dirt. and we never got into the bowl,,,, 5 km away and hit pure rock,,,,, 0 snow. With snow coming this week it may be possible to get in on the whitegoat trail??? taking my customers elswhere this weekend,,, where I know there is snow.

Where is baseline and hummingbird ? I don't see them on my bighorn backcountry map.

get a back country road maop for the area from canadian tire or walmart, shows ya where all the atv, sledding, hiking, and horse trail riding areas are as well as free ride areas. helps alot for location of these areas and how far you can go.
but both are located in the same area as sugarbowl kind of if i remember right.

Some pics from yamtogo's i-phone feb.15/2011.unloaded at the transfer station west of Nordegg. Headed in on the trail towards the sugar bowl. Met two other that came out said that they had witnessed two slides in the bowl prior to the Sugar Bowl. There must have been a third slide after they left, because their were three slides when we got back there. Not very big slides, But still slides all the same. The snow is deep in the tress on the littlehorn trail, but pretty sparse in other locations, down to the rocks and very wind swept. so be careful, good chance on sled damage. Will try and attatch the pictures. I believe that they are zipped, and maybe small. If someone knows how to enlarge them please do so. Thanks

The last few. Sorry about the size. not from my camera and I do not know how to make them larger. The snow was over the hood going down the littlehorn trail in the trees from the first bowl. The last pic. of yamtogo's nytro in the deeper stuff.

Went in by Cline River. There is a disposal station. Whitegoat trail I believe it is called. It was our first time in, so we are not really familiar with the area, and did not want to take any chances.

The second bowl (Sugarbowl) looks fairly nasty from the top,,, but once in it has lots of room to play,, the far west wall is bad for avalances,,,,,,, If I get the 670 going before next weekend I might go into the bowl. Ended up working this weekend due to all the cold weather over the past week.

I have quadded and hiked back in there. It's called Cline Cr, an old cat trail. Super nice!! I Hunted Bighorn Sheep in there. 14km from the dump to the summit of the pass.

from the pictures it looks bad for snow in the bowls,,,,,,, same places it slides all the time,, but dont think I have seen that much dirt in the snow before. Ended up sledding from the lodge at Nordegg yesterday, was real good. Broke open a trail into the Shunda meadows from the south. tryed out an M8 163" and a 1M 156". Then went back to the lodge for beers and awsome food!!!! as always.

Heading down to Nordegg for the weekend staying in the new subdivision, was wondering where we can find some good trails and maybe a deep field or two to play in.

i was up there at the end of feb, the snow was better than ive ever seen it before. It was only like my fifth time up there, the snow on the trail (Little horn) i think its called was very good and we played around in the trees alot back there. If anyone was to go up there though be ready for a long side hill to get up the ravine to the first bowl.
