Isn’t there like a 6 billion dollar lawsuit about that?
Whats 6billion $ when you could sell like 50 turbo kits? haha
Isn’t there like a 6 billion dollar lawsuit about that?
I want to touch on mtntk being one of the most reliable turbo kits on the mountain for a second.
So, we all are aware here that mtntk was one of the first companies to come out with ecm based tuning for their turbo kits through a bullydog tuner platform witch was specific to the polaris and polaris only. Im my mind they were the pioneers of ecm tuning for the 2 stroke turbo market, in fact they had theirs before silber did. That is why they ran so darn well. What im confused about now is that mtntk is claiming that their kits are better then the rest because they DONT use ecm tuning but a form of piggy back controller ( not sure yet cause theirs no information available) which it seems we are trying to get away from because we know for a fact the best running turbos are ones with the ecm's programmed. If you look at their axys 850 kit they still program the ecm... but for the skidoo they use a piggy back and claim it to be better because your not modifying the factory control systems. This makes no sense to me what so ever? If in fact they are using a piggy back fuel control system then that would mean that a silber kit would be superior in the run ability department over mtntk solely based on the ecm flash. Im not sure why mtntk doesnt want to pay up to have an engineer hack the ecm for them, if they did they would be the top contending kit. Just my .02$
if the same runability can be achieved with the piggyback programmer i think its a better way to go. your not sending your 1200$ ecm away and having a downed snowmobile while your waiting for the flash.
Can’t see why not someone posted 1400$$ for an ECM but that’s cheap to stay under warranty umbrella.....can u run a second ecm
I have stock ecm behind back seat for my duramax as I have a efi tuned one running the ship
5 min to swap out but now that warranty is over i prob should sell the spare
It all comes down to warrenty..... the piggy back system can be removed when chit goes south and taken to dealer for expected warrenty.... the ecm written systems are dealer detected and therefore voids warrenty.... writing over stock ecm leaves dectectible scripts so there is no hiding it was done....period
As far as warranty goes, don’t kid yourselves, even if you carefully put it back to stock with a piggy back controller the dealers can still tell that it was fkd with. There are several sensors that will read out of spec under boost causing alarms to be stored in the ECM so unless you have a BUDS in your garage to clear all of these out of range alarms, warranty is not gonna happen, sorry to burst your bubble but I know first hand how this plays out. Some of you are going, fk this guy, he’s an idiot or, his dealer must be an a-hole, we’ll sorry to say that every piston that needs to be replaced on an 850 requires a full BUDS report to be sent in to BRP, good luck convincing yourselves that you can get warranty, those days are over until there’s an OEM boost option.
I attempt twice to get a hold of MTNTK, no reply...... I see they have been posting a lot on the old social media
Wait till Chrisco has an update I guess.....
Hey Chrisco what is Mtntk 850 turbo clutching setup? What comes in this kit for primary and secondary clutching?
Possibly just doing some home work...Cuz you wanna try the clutch setup on your silber?
