oil for 2 stroke mountain max 600

hey all just picked up a cheapo sled for the winter, i forgot what the guy had told me for oil to use for it, its a 97 mm 600 any thoughts would be great. thanks alot:beer:

i have used cheap Castrol , about 20 bucks a gallon, for years in the older sleds and never had a problem. 5000 miles on the 670 never been apart still going strong.

I had a '98 600(twin) mountain max, just like yours........ Ran all different types of oil in it. Always liked the blue marble oil, and the yamalubes were good too.......canadian tire would be as good a place as any to get a decent quality oil for you.

i use yamalube, its been recommended to me by quite a few people
that is actually what the guy i bought it from told me to used but i had forgotten what it was called, where could a guy buy a hefty jug of this? asides from a yammy dealer?

just at a yamaha dealer. but since they dont sell too many 2 strokes anymore you can jew them down a bit. all i ever used was yamalube. its not really that much more then a generic brand 2 cycle oil.
