This will be my first turbo and just wondering if I should get the basic break in rides out of the way before installing the turbo or get it all built up first? What do you turbo guys do?

My preference is from the start and short burst of full on throttle then full off throttle so first trip in hills better than flat land riding.
This is my opinion on what has worked for me for strong running engines

Get the break in rides done before you do the turbo so you make sure you don't have a lemon before you get rid of your warranty. Then throw the turbo on and shred it!

I did the turbo before snow flew last year and had no problems. this way you can get it done before you want to go riding. Also if your spending that much to ride a turbo sled this year don't you want it on for every ride.

install it, do a thorough warm up, add a little oil to the gas, keep boost at 5 lbs for first day and drive the living hell out of it, second day break in is done

I just built a sled motor everything new except the cases it had 1 heat cycle on it then it got boosted. I will try not hold it WFO for to long for the first 100 miles. I'm not one bit worried about it either.

Thanks guys. i think i'll follow fredw's advice as i dont think i can wait till i get some rides in to install the turbo with all this snow creeping down the hills. it's going to be a professional install with me watching/passing wrenches so i'm pretty confident in the set-up.
