Spent a bit of time both on and riding with a gen 5 this past weekend in Revy. I am on a 22 165 Turbo X, and my buddy rented a Gen 5 154 expert. Between the new track, and the sled as a whole, the gen 5 is a killer. I could climb higher on that 154 gen 5 than I could on my 165, and the thing just hopped out of the snow like an animal. Buddy normally rides a Gen 4 with a 174 T3 track and Boondocker turbo, and he was certain we could take that 154 anywhere his machine would go. Definitely sold on one of these machines for next season, and I'll probably get my wife on a NA expert. Guess I drank the doolaid.

Does anyone know, is the flex edge track on the non-expert sleds the same as years past, or is it updated as well?

updated on my freeride but don't know about the other sleds.
Yes, looks like the flex edge track is updated across the board. Are the lugs on your freeride more reinforced than previous models?

We feel that's what was really helping the track on the expert, the paddles weren't folding quite as bad under load. We are by no means engineers or sled experts though. Just a bunch of morons that like to play in the trees.

i'm not sure if they're more reinforced or not. the vid that brp released that goes into all the changes they made on the g5 chassis prolly mentions it. the lugs do go all the way to the edge of the track now.

Full 15 3/4” at the belt and 14 7/8 “ at the tips. The paddles are more scooped. Going to be a great track. It is uncuttable for a polaris tunnel as the outside finger will be to weak.

So they have a new 15" track for Lynx, a new 16" flex edge, and the new 16" non- flex edge?

and the 15" is different design that the 16"?

Lots of options...

Yep, the 15w Lynx track has the old style lugs of the g4. Still a great track tho.
