Still getting a feel for the XM but so far I'm really liking this sled. I want to make some improvements to this thing before next riding season and wanted to get you guys' thoughts on them.

TKI belt drive
Shocks- Fox Evol X - Raptors - ???
Floating QRS
Gripper Skis

Shocks will be at the top of the list, what do you guys think of these Fox shocks and what others do you recommend? What's your thoughts on the MtnTk Blowhole? What was the best mod you have done to your XM?

Id recommend the Raptor Shocks. I have them on mine and they are awesome.
I did a RSI riser on mine also because the stock one moves around all the time, this one clamps way harder.
I think belt drive would be a great mod also.

A can is an easy/cheap -15lbs and a light weight hood is another easy/cheap -11lbs

Best mod is the shocks

Shocks, can, better skis. Pretty much needed on an XM anything else is getting into nice to haves. The belt drive and mesh hood are cool. Personally I love the BRP adjustable riser too, full tall on the trail to save my back and then full low when you get to the good stuff for the best control.

I have grippers with shaper bars on. Certain conditions they seem to work better than the older DS2's. On average, I think they are a little better, but I wouldn't say $400-500 better.

I Have Evol R's on the front and an E-motion skid out back. Quite happy with both. Nice ride improvement for me, but there is a fair bit of money tied up there.

I also have a TKI belt drive. 2.42 on my 154 and quite happy with it. It wouldn't be the first mod I would do, but has certainly seemed to add a little throttle response to the sled.

Pretty well regarded as the best ski upgrade for an XM especially when compared to the pricing of aftermarket skis. They float better and the shorter tail makes counter-steering nicer.

$800 worth of throttle response?

Probably going to put the can on before Arctic Man in April.

Best shocks by far
Pin it down the trail and the sled stays straight and goes where you want
These are must haves when you get to ride a used with them

SLP ypipe pipe and can is a nice upgrade saves about 16 lbs and a few ponies
Hood is 15 lbs off with the Doo race hood

Still want to take another 20lbs out of this sled

x2 on raptors............. doing like 30 40 k coming down on a pounded out trail. so freakin awesome.... only complaint is it takes forever to get them set up cause there is so many adjustments you can make, and only one at a time till its dialed. Mine are still not perfect but I already LOVE them
