Does anyone in or around Calgary have a Needle shim kit? I'm looking for a .030" and .020" shims for under my needles in my XP.

Pretty sure you can get them from Yamaha....

I was thinking that I wouldn't be able to because most of their sleds are fuel injected. I'll give' em a go.

Why are shimming your needles? Reason i ask is i am putting Rk tek head and piston kit in my xp and the instructions tell me to rase the needle one clip, but there is no other position on the needle. Is that what i am going to have to do?

That's correct. As I understand it on each clip position is roughly .040". So if you want to Raise the needle (Richen) you will need to add .040" of shim to the existing shim that's in there which is right around .030" stock.

Remember, if you use the Yammy ones, 0.4mm = 16 thou....so you'll need 2 per side...
